April 26-Mary 3, 2009
Stewardship Week, celebrated annually from the last Sunday in April to the first Sunday in May, was established by the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) in 1955 to bring attention to the stewardship of our country's natural resources. Conservation districts host field days, workshops, and other events to demonstrate the benefits of conservation and encourage the responsible use of resources.
This year's stewardship theme is "Dig It! The Secrets of Soil". Outreach materials and suggestions for activities to celebrate Stewardship Week may be found on NACD's website.
