ELIGIBILITY

Any employee of the NRCS, Conservation Commission, GA Forestry Commission, Department of Natural Resources or other conservation professionals working Georgia.

NOMINATIONS

Nominations may be made by any Georgia Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor or any district board.  Such nominations must be signed by the supervisor where he or she is the nominator, or signed by the district chairman where the board is the nominator. 

Nominations will be submitted on a standard form available from the GACDS office.  They must be submitted to the appropriate GACDS Group Vice President no later than September 30th each year.

JUDGING CRITERIA

First priority and emphasis will be given to the nominee’s professional contributions in soil and water conservation. The nominee’s other civic and personal accomplishments may be considered.

Such contributions must indicate a high degree of professionalism.

The contributions of the nominees must be recognized by the public and by his/her peers in the field of conservation.

The nominee must have displayed unusual initiative and innovation in the performance of his/her work.

General information of a type or nature which will support the nomination.

JUDGING

A judging committee comprised of district supervisors and appointed by the appropriate Group Vice President will select two best – qualified nominees for each of the five GACDS Groups.

The Group nominations, if any, must be submitted to the GACDS State Office before September 30th .

The recipient of the award will then be selected by the GACDS Nominating and Resolutions Committee.

The award will be presented at the GACDS Annual Meeting Awards Luncheon.  There will be no runner-up or second place awards given.

AWARDS

A unique plaque will be presented to each winner.

RECOGNIZING THE WINNER

The recipient of the award shall receive full recognition through the media.
