The Superior Professional Support award is given annually to an employee of the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Georgia Forestry Commission, Department of Natural Resources, or other conservation professional working in Georgia. The first priority of the award is to recognize the nominee's professional contributions in soil and water conservation, although civic and personal accomplishments may also be considered.
This year's recipient, Chris Groskreutz, is currently the Coordinator of the Chestatee-Chattahoochee Resource Conservation & Development Council. Chris graduated from UGA, majoring in Agribusiness/Ag Economics. After working as an intern for the Georgia Soil and Water
Conservation Commission (GSWCC), he was hired in 2003 as a Resource Specialist. Chrisbegan his service as a GSWCC Regional Representative in 2005, where he assisted producers with implementing conservation practices and supported the districts' outreachto their communities. His diligence and commitment to the conservation of Georgia's natural resources is apparent in the quality of the programs he administers.
