GACDS and the Georgia Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society founded the Natural Resources Conservation Workshop in 1962. Members of the two organizations established the week-long camp to educate high school students on the value, protection, and conservation of Georgia's natural resources. The following partners plan and host the NRCW each year: GACDS, Georgia Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission, Georgia Forestry Commission, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC).
Workshop attendees learn about conservation through classroom instruction and hands-on outdoor activities. Over $16,000 worth of college scholarships will be awarded at this year's workshop. Rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors are elgible to attend. Learn more about the Natural Resources Conservation Workshop.
